December 31 is always about what has been, and what will be. And what better way to celebrate our nebulous future (and nefarious past) than a custom etching, which you create from a library of 412 images.
Fortune cookies, crabs, and PhDs are all possibilities. 2010, we’ve got you covered.
Many moons ago, as a student living in Paris, I bought a deck of naked man cards–as in full frontal King of Hearts–at a tacky touriste shop. Throughout my 20s, one of my favorite parlor tricks was to propose that we play poker, then deal Bruno, Didier, and Franck to the unsuspecting crowd.
My friends are all on to this trick, so for our annual New Year’s card game, I have to move on. These Bicycle Tragic Royalty cards, with their ridiculous faces and black-lit colors, illustrate that I’ve grown up–but not by much.
On New Year’s Day, there will be 38 wine glasses in your sink. Will you be prepared?
One of my post-holiday traditions is to scoop up as many good deals as I can–for next year’s gifts, of course. This offer, both in terms of value and quality, is huge: for $10, you choose which Azuri scarf, wrap, or shawl you’d like, and the stylists at Nimli select the color. Their selections range from cashmere to pashmina to bamboo to linen, so all kinds of climates are covered. If the idea of mystery wardrobe adventure isn’t all that appealing, all Azuri’s goods are on sale, so you can pick exactly what you’d like, relatively guilt-free.
