I’m a big list-maker, and there is nothing more satisfying than checking off completed to-do’s. I’m even guilty of writing down things I’ve already accomplished just so I can cross them off (don’t lie, you do it too). Unfortunately, I also have an annoying tendency to lose my lists, but no more! This cool bamboo dry-erase board is going up on my kitchen wall so I can bask in finished tasks.
I resolve to save money and pack a lunch.
I’ll admit it, I’m a lazy wrapper. While some people create beautiful packages with stylish paper and elaborate ribbons and bows, my gift recipients are lucky if their presents aren’t sealed with duct tape. This year? Tinsel tape. Bling!
I gotta say, I find the whole Elf on the Shelf thing very unsettling. There’s a little man in a funny hat sitting in your room, just waiting to narc you out to Santa? No thanks. But these cast-iron elfin candleholders are cute, and not at all creepy. I could go for that.
Best discovery ever? The toy section at Ikea. They’re totally cute and well-designed (no cloying characters!), there are great wooden toys (non-toxic paint!), and everything is cheap cheap cheap! My son loves knocking over these soft stacking blocks… over and over again. Plus, Ikea will donate $1 to Unicef for every soft toy you purchase through Dec. 24. Head over there!
