One of the most obnoxiously smug parenting scenes I’ve ever witnessed was a YouTube video in which a young toddler was encouraged to assemble “E=MC2″ in alphabet magnets on the fridge. Yeah, your kid is Einstein. Right. This was a couple of years ago, so I’m guessing the now 4-year-old has moved beyond particle physics to quantum chemistry.

be a softie

Best discovery ever? The toy section at Ikea. They’re totally cute and well-designed (no cloying characters!), there are great wooden toys (non-toxic paint!), and everything is cheap cheap cheap! My son loves knocking over these soft stacking blocks… over and over again. Plus, Ikea will donate $1 to Unicef for every soft toy you purchase through Dec. 24. Head over there!
