These journals–meant to be filled out by a loved one, then returned–remind me of the slam books of our youth. But kinder and keepable, instead of the sort of thing that sends you running out of 4th period to lock yourself in a bathroom stall.
Also a good DIY gift, if you’re so inclined.

I was so hopped up yesterday when the Violet e-mail landed in my inbox: 30% off everything in the shop with code SP309! The Violets have pretty great taste, so I was imagining a massive post filled with all the goodies with which I could fill my gift closet.
Alas. Almost everything is sold out (hence the sale? or did I just arrive too late?), but I unearthed this sweet little bicycle journal that would be perfect for writing down daily “this is what I did, this is where I went” notes, Frank O’Hara style.
And he probably writes your name, address, and other vital statistics–if you know what I mean–in this little book.
