Pantone has just  announced that the 2012 color of the year is Tangerine Tango. So this week on misosouper, it’s all about orange.

I love accessorizing in the fall before the big bulky sweaters have to come out. Tweed blazers look so good paired with a thin girly blouse and chunky necklaces, scarves, and pins. And of course, boots, always.

Last night my husband asked me what I wanted to do for Valentine’s Day. Since it’s a Monday night and we’d have to find a sitter, I suggested that we meet up for a romantic lunch. I’m stumped on what to get him (why do guys even need Valentine’s gifts?), but it should be SO obvious what to get me. And yet, after ten years together, I’ve still never gotten a little blue box from him. Le sigh.

Last weekend was the Bazaar Bizarre craft fair in San Francisco. There was a ton of crafty goodness to browse, and I knocked a few more names off of my holiday gift-list. Mother-in-law? Check. Sister-in-law? Check. And for myself? Um, check, check, check. I couldn’t help it. The lovely up-cycled jewelry by Cara Lyndon was my downfall. Tell me you could resist this gold necklace with vintage brass lockets? I bet you can’t.

Last week it was all about dudes, so this week I’m thinking about the ladies on my holiday list. I’ve had my eye on this silhouette charm necklace for myself, but it would make a wonderful personalized gift for the grandmas as well.
