trekdesk-treadmill-deskFeeling like a lazy bitch?

I am.

As I snarf down my fourth coffee clothed in my running outfit, which I have heretofore worn only to RUN ERRANDS, I realize that just chasing the UPS man down the street for my signature-required packages isn’t going to cut it for exercise.

As I posted last week, I’m on the hunt for a new desk; if I double my budget, I can get this snazzy TrekDesk, which perches over my treadmill and allows me to work while walking very, very slowly. (Slow walking = no sweat, hence its popularity among folks for whom B.O. would be an office hazard.)

As if feeling like a blob isn’t motivation enough, there’s even a Twitter #hashtag for the mobile office.  #treadtweets tracks miles walked and worked, and it’s nothing short of astonishing to see a report of 11.98 miles covered in the time that I’ve mocha-choco-latte’d my way through a stack of e-mails.

sit and be fit

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

topstar-sitness-mesh-exercise-ball-chairI can’t stop with the butt posts.  It’s a disease.

Ignore that, and trust me when I say that after discovering this chair on Overstock, it has shot to the top of my Christmas wish list.  I’ve ridden religiously on my exercise ball throughout my two pregnancies and beyond, so to discover an exercise ball chair that looks as adorable as a bar stool aboard a V ship is thrilling indeed.

The fact that you can strengthen your core while bouncing to Ace of Base and writing blog posts?  You can’t put a price on sitness, people.

the butt of all jokes

desktop-butt-station-assistant-organizerDon’t lie:  you snorted a little when you saw this poor dude, gripping a pen in his mouth as he poops paper clips.

from our friends at TheFind: get personalized with a custom address stamp

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

personalized-stampsGorgeous and easy:  my kind of gadget.  Discover more great tips at TheFind!

Now that summer is over and the kids are back in school, I’m determined to be organized for the busiest time of year. Along with fall and winter come multiple holidays, social events, birthday parties and then as soon as you can catch your breath Christmas has come and gone. No more attaching return address labels on our family’s holiday cards until the wee hours. This year I plan to order a personalized return address stamp. I found these self-inking customized stamps that will be my new personal-izing assistant! Not only can these be used for return addresses, and look great on the back flap of an envelope I might add, but they can be used to personalize note cards as well. The personalized stamps from Three Designing Women (love the name!) are designed to personalize blank note cards, wine tags, gift tags, notepads and calling cards. You can also use these self-inking stamps with your own blank stationery or stickers. I love all of the unique designs and cute, modern note cards. They have something for classic tastes as well as modern design fans. The stamps are available at the Neiman Marcus website and you can also find coupon codes for Neiman’s here.

Products featured above:
Three Designing Women Square Stamp or Round Stamp, $48.00 at NeimanMarcus.com
Three Designing Women Retro Stamper Note (green and brown design), $13.25 for 10 at papersyoulove.com
Three Designing Women Blue Stripes + Brown Floral notes – 1 set of 10 $22.50 at Finestationery.com

gneiss-spice-school-supply-magnetic-jarsThe cliché is true:  magnets (along with such gourmet delights as real butter and squeeze cheese) do make your life better.
