wall-greens

Tuesday, June 7th, 2011

The Babylonians were on to something with those hanging gardens… I find almost nothing more lovely than plants spilling over the sides of a planter and greenery cascading down a wall. This affordable option for starting a vertical garden is made from recycled plastic bottles, which makes it even more appealing. Now I just need to find a spot to hang it.

hanging garden

Tuesday, April 19th, 2011

I love hanging plants, but oh, how I loathe the cheap plastic baskets with hooks that most garden stores carry. Those mossy bird’s nest alternatives don’t do much for me either. But wow, look at this beautiful ceramic planter. Talk about classing up your standard philodendron.

These sweet little galvanized steel plant pots from Ikea have so much potential. Pretty centerpieces? Outdoor candle lanterns? A classier take on easter baskets?

how does your garden grow?

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Since my celebrity garden makeover host is going to make all my backyard dreams come true, I’ll be sure to ask them to include a special kids area for the little one to call his own. When he gets a little older, we can teach him how to grow his own vegetables, and he and his friends can play with worms. He’ll be the most popular kid on the block, for sure.
