There are rocking horses. And then there are handcrafted, German design objects. Hmm, which one does Mommy want in her living room?

puzzle perfect

Raise your hand if you love Melissa & Doug. Their chunky puzzles are a huge hit in my house. But this construction set that appeared under the tree on Christmas just knocked the dinosaurs off the top step on the podium. Make way for trucks!

Today’s the last day of our Tangerine Tango run, and I’m wrapping things up with Sox the Fox, an adorable orange pal for little ones. How cute is that tie?

In the debate over plastic versus wooden toys, there is simply no contest. Nothing beats the beauty, the tactile feel, and the longevity of woodgrain. All of Soopsori’s handcrafted toys are crave-worthy, but I particularly love these musical instruments.

be a softie

Best discovery ever? The toy section at Ikea. They’re totally cute and well-designed (no cloying characters!), there are great wooden toys (non-toxic paint!), and everything is cheap cheap cheap! My son loves knocking over these soft stacking blocks… over and over again. Plus, Ikea will donate $1 to Unicef for every soft toy you purchase through Dec. 24. Head over there!
