leader of the pack

Friday, January 13th, 2012

The last wrapping paper scraps have been recycled, the tree dragged out to the curb for composting, and the ornaments packed up ’til next year. After all the Santa dust settled, this motorcycle definitely leads the pack for new favorites. He clutches it to his chest like a teddy bear.

hot, hot wheels

Sunday, December 25th, 2011

You have to give it to Hot Wheels, keeping it real all these years. These were the first things my son opened in his stocking on Christmas morning, and he would’ve been happy if that was the only present he received. “Dune Buggy” entered his vocabulary, and his heart. He’s smitten.

daddy’s little helper

Friday, August 26th, 2011

Ack. This little tool belt romper is adorable, though my little guy’s now beyond the sweet onesie phase. He’d much prefer the real deal, or at least a child-proofed alternative.

splash landing

Friday, May 13th, 2011

In the early morning hours, one of my son’s favorite things to do is stand on the couch, looking out the window. He loves watching the cars driving by, he goes bananas for garbage trucks, but his favorite thing these days is spying a bird or an airplane in the sky. He’ll point up into the air and jump up and down, ooohing and ahhing, and turn to  me with a look of complete wonder in his little face. I agree, kiddo. Flying is pretty amazing.
